AWAKENING IN INK, The Morris-Jumel Mansion, Fall 2015

"AWAKENING IN INK written and directed by Vincent Carbone is loads of fun in its evocation of the past, with references to Eliza Jumel’s relationship with her husband Stephen, his accidental death, her marriage to Burr, and the years after her death and into the 20th century after New York City purchased the mansion and converted it into a museum."

"AWAKENING IN INK is an enjoyable and enlightening production unlike any you will experience in New York City."

THE GRADUATE, Southampton Cultural Center,
Summer 2012

“For "THE GRADUATE" to work, sex scenes between Benjamin and Mrs. Robinson must at least register on the icky meter. In casting the key licentious roles, Center Stage director Michael Disher's choice of Vincent Carbone and Brooke Alexander is a winner.”

“Mr. Carbone, as Ben, is a good study of his more famous film predecessor.”

“Mr. Carbone really hits his stride in the second act. His best scene in the play is the first after intermission. Sitting on the bed and pacing the floor of his boarding house room as he tries to convince Elaine, played by Bethany Dellapolla, that she must marry him, the character’s most exasperated and anxiety-filled moments translate beautifully.”

“The banter between Mr. Carbone and Ms. Dellapolla is crackingly good in those short, tightly written scenes in the second act.”

“Both Alexander and Carbone do a very good job in roles that are complex, demanding, and at times, uncomfortable. Alexander’s demeanor and appearance, particularly, are spot on for the era and Carbone’s naiveté is charming.”

“Vincent Carbone excels in his role as Benjamin, the part made famous in the screen version by a young Dustin Hoffman. Mr. Carbone manages to both shuck the Hoffmanesque archetype and add layers of likable neuroticism to a character once deemed “an insufferable creep” by Roger Ebert.”

OF MICE AND MEN, Southampton Cultural Center, Fall 2011

"Vincent Carbone was so good at his portrayal of that jerk Curley that he might just get a few stink eyes in the next few weeks by people who encounter him while he’s out and about living his real life."

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, SUNY College at Brockport, Winter 2009

"The audience's laughs peppered every scene, though at times, supporting actors took the comedic focus. This was especially true of the senile, old man Erronius, pla
yed flawlessly by Vincent Carbone. Never out of character, Erronius shuffled across the stage, wagging his diaper-clad behind, back and forth under a too-short Roman robe."
